Sign Up 3 Day Fundamental Classes

This is a 3 session program completed within the week. Our focus is to ensure all newcomers up to speed with our technique/movements safely and training philosophy, through the basics of CrossFit. The class is small and at a steady pace.* This is REQUIRED before you can enter our CrossFit class.Fundamental classes run every 7pm from Monday to Thursday.

CrossFit Group Classes

Once you have completed the Fundamental program, you are welcome to sign up to any available CrossFit class. If you have done CrossFit before for at least 6 months you’re welcome to jump straight into the group classes, however we kindly ask if you could please contact us prior to your arrival so we can book you into the session.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program designed to increase your all-round fitness by performing “constantly varied functional movement at high intensity”. CrossFit is a training philosophy that coaches people of all shapes and sizes to improve their physical well-being and cardiovascular fitness in a hardcore yet accepting and encouraging environment. CrossFit builds strength and conditioning through extremely varied and challenging workouts.  Each day the workout will test a different part of your functional strength or conditioning, not specializing in one particular thing, but rather with the goal of building a body that’s capable of practically anything and everything. Why functional movement? Because it has direct relevance to help you with everyday life!

“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean & jerk, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.”

    Beginning on an 8-minute clock, complete as many reps as possible of:
    25 toes-to-bars
    50 double-unders
    15 squat cleans, 135 lb.
    25 toes-to-bars
    50 double-unders
    13 squat cleans, 185 lb.
    If completed before 8 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:
    25 toes-to-bars
    50 double-unders
    11 squat cleans, 225 lb.
    If completed before 12 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:
    25 toes-to-bars
    50 double-unders
    9 squat cleans, 275 lb.
    If completed before 16 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:
    25 toes-to-bars
    50 double-unders
    7 squat cleans, 315 lb.

FAQ

Do I need prior experience to take classes?

No. New members participate in our 3 Fundamental Classes and then transition into any scheduled WOD they’d like. The beauty of CrossFit is that all exercises are based on movements that you already do–like squatting, pushing and pulling. Exercises are scaled to inspire the beginner and challenge the most elite athlete.

What makes CrossFit different than other gyms?

CrossFit is about variance and adaptation. We “program” our workouts for General Physical Preparedness, or GPP. We don’t have leg days, back- and bi- days, or cardio days. We believe the body is a whole system, and strengthen it as a whole.

Our coaches also give you basic education in diet and nutrition. We believe that nutrition is the foundation of health and fitness and know that how we feed our bodies determines how quickly we achieve the results we want.

WHAT DOES WOD REFER TO?

WOD, or Workout of the Day, is the list of exercises for a given day.  Since CrossFit is constantly varied, everyone is always anticipating what tomorrow’s will be.
